After
great success in Zagreb open where our club won double title one month
ago, our players repeated the same thing and won both titles in
Crikvenica open which is the second tournament of Croatian championships.
Men
team got through preliminary group beating two games against Chuck Norris and
Nehajgrad imobilia teams by 2:0.
Same as in Zagreb open-
Detono played against White boys from Kaštel in quarterfinal. History repeaed
also in the sense of the result because Detono won the game with the same
result (2:0).
For
passing to the final “Detonators” won the game against Golden balls
from Zagreb. In quarterfinal they beat Sandstorm team in which played a few
members of the national indoor handbal selection (Zlatko Horvat and Manuel
Štrlek, respectively). But, actual European champions didn’t allowed any kind
of surprise and they pass through to the final where they played against
strong opponents from Zagreb- Let cepelin.
Although
most of the spectators expected equal game, this final soon transformed into
“one team show”, because Detonators dominated in both sets.
Following
players achieved this result .
Totić,
Jugović, Copot, Jurić, Mirazović, Glavočić, Paradžik, Malbašić, Madjerčić and
Sošić. Coach: Igor Požeg. After the final best players were chosen.
Those players are Igor Totić (Detono Zagreb), Davor Rokavec (Let
Cepelin), Krunoslav Konjar (Salon Tepiha) i Raul Valković (Chuck
Norris).
In women
category played only two teams- Detono Zagreb and team Čudnovata bića. As it
was expected Detono girls didn’t have any problems in two matches against
the same opponents. wit this title Detonator-Girls confirmed the winning of the
Croatian championships title.
Following
girls participated on Crikvenica open: Majstorović, Domjančić, Jeletić,
Kelava, J. Leljak, N. Leljak, Tomašić, Dandić and Žgela.
Best
players in the womens category were Irena Tomašić (Detono Zagreb), Romana
Domjančić (Detono Zagreb), Karmen Perica (Čudnovata bića) and Iva
Perica (Čudnovata bića).
At the
end of this article it is worth to mention that the last tournament of Croatian
championships will be held from 24-26. of July on Pag island.
