Last night in the Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung eighth World Games were opened. For the first
time in its history, Taiwan has organized this great international sporting
event.
Charming light filled the sky above the stadium where 40 000 visitors remained
amazed with colorful performance of
hundered trained artists. During two and
a half hour opening ceremony performers are concerned, prepared with
spectacular choreography, show folk customs and their culture. Evening program
began symbolicaly with handover of household-
Taiwanese children met the children from
Duisburg (Duisburg was the host of
2005-the last game of the World), which was followed by the counting that
initiated the first of three main parts of the introductoryprogram.
After three art performances, it was time for athletes to go out on the stadium in
alphabetical order. Croatia expedition was represented by beach handball
selection. Croatian flag was carried with team captain Hrvoje “Cveba” Horvat.
